Autumn 23 – Set Of Two

In his , Coulson created two emotionally striking pieces with impactful bold colours. The beauty of coastal scenes is reflected in soft, warm hues and bold patterns, representing self-reflection and inspiration as the main subjects. Lawrence’s paintings fuse the serenity and drama of landscape art. His majestic backdrops inspire a meditative mood, allowing the viewer to escape into the idealised scenery. With focal points of light beams and cracks of lightning, the perfect ethereal and dreamlike atmosphere is created for you to get lost in.

In “Lightning Man”, the lightning emerges from a dream like quality colour palette with deep purple and blue clouds, adding a beautiful texture and depth to the piece. Placed in opposite directions deliberately, the lightning dancing across the sky shaped to be a human figure echoes the character walking on the shoreline to represent their unawareness of each other.

In “One Man Show”, the artist creates a magnificent piece where the main focal narrative is the beam of light, with the light peering through the soft coloured clouds to the beams of light on the shoreline, this artwork has an ethereal surreal feeling to it. With the title phrase and the musical, theatrical feelings it encompasses as inspiration, Coulson created this piece around it. as a conductor of the epic display in front of him, the human figure is witnessing nature as its greatest but in that moment it’s his ‘One Man Show”.
