Every Sometimes Day

The heart-warming title of this piece stems from a conversation between the artist and his great-granddaughter who remarked that her mother plaited her hair “Every Sometimes Day”. Inspired by the amusing innocence of this statement, Bob created the above artwork that also referenced an older photograph of his daughter looking out the window. The highly effective and beautiful colour palette that mixes black and white with red accents perfectly captures the iconic red brick Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses that line the towns and cities of the UK (particularly in the North). Light rain is captured through delicate strokes, perfectly shown in this hand-varnished giclée canvas on board. Although this artwork is from an intimate family tale, we the viewer get to put our own story to the little girl thinking ‘Every Sometimes Day’.
