An original wall sculpture by Frederic Daty
As a child, Frederic Daty fought the boredom of reality with dreams and the creation of his own world. From heroic fantasy to science fiction, his inspirations pushed him to explore. He was particularly moved by artists such as Victory Vasarely, Giacomo Balla and M.C. Escher. Light and shadows play an essential role in his work. The light animates the metal and plays with it.
Over the years, he has taken inspiration from photographic surrealism, chiaroscuro, kinetic art and Chinese ink art. While his stylised shapes are primarily designed to be pleasing to the eye, their purpose is to make the viewer contemplate the subtleties of their own life and reflect on their memories.
