A hand-varnished giclée canvas on board by Bob Barker.
Like ‘moths to a flame’, Bob Barker remembers in his childhood that when the man responsible had lit the gas lamps at the top of his street in Fazeley, kids would gather around them and hang out. Illuminated by the glowing lamps, viewers can also sense a feeling of warmth, community and nostalgia in the chilly evening artwork created by the steady application of colour and light.
Part of the second instalment From Yesterday to Here, Bob Barker explores a new range of lively scenes through subdued and romantic colour palettes that hark back to the artist’s northern roots and industrial background. Discover the full set , also available with a boxed canvas edition .
